Here are some of the American cars I have owned.

74_impala.jpg (8086 bytes) This was my first American car. It was a 1974 Chevrolet Impala, with a 350ci (5700cc)V8 engine. It was a bit basic by American standards, because it was built in Belgium (I think) for the European market. It had room for 6 on its very tasteful blue vinyl seats and was much in demand for party transport, however it was a bit rusty which proved to be its downfall. But before it met its maker it yielded some useful spares. Not least of all a large section of its roof for filling in the sunroof on a Model B rod, I believe. So bits of it still live on!

71_skylark.jpg (8374 bytes)This was my second, as you might be able to tell it had seen better days. It was a 1972 Buick Skylark convertible 350ci V8. Rather uncharitably described by someone as "like sitting in a skip". When I sold it I think it was going to be restored, never seen it since though.

My third was a 1980ish Chevrolet Blazer in a fetching combination of metallic brown and gold which blended in nicely with the rust.

Number 4 - Buick Riviera

Number 5 was a Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28.It had the 5.0 Tpi(Tuned port injection)HO (High Output) engine All this means is that it was quite fast and sounded great. It was for my wife to use (that was my excuse anyway) but she never really liked it so I had to get rid of her (the car). I saw this one at the Cheltenham show in 1999, so I think its still going.

1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo

This was my daily driver. Its black inside and out. 3.8V6engine 61,500 miles, some history. Condition would reflect this mileage. If you don't know this model, it is a 2 door coupe with 4 very comfortable leather upholstered seats. This car has got every conceivable gadget, and they all work! It also has the 'Visual Information Center', which is a touch screen computer that as well as the usual car computer functions can control the climate control and the radio/CD player, all on a touch screen! Hours of fun for all the family.
